STILL ALIVE

I tried to post to both concurrently, but it wasn't working out. Though I fully moved to LiveJournal I kept this version around because through Blogger I can easily search my old posts, plus, I just never got around to learning how to manipulate my LJ layout.

Emeraldus found another FMA movie trailer here. I don't know how long it will be up, so if you need me to send over a copy, I can. It's less than 3 MB.
The movie is in better standing with me now because it confirms that THEY ARE AT LEAST GOING TO TRY TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THAT ENDING! There may be hope yet.
So yes, if you have not seen the end of the FMA series, don't watch. It won't make any sense anyway.

Cinderella-ppoi mono revisited.In my previous post I commented that I was excited to hear that the Cinderella storyline of Furuba was going to be in the new drama CD, and more than one of you said, gasp, 'what be this Cinderella storyline?
'It is nothing but one of the most hysterical things EVAR. (See long time ago LJ post here).
If you are familiar with the Sleeping Beauty arc from Card Captor Sakura - the class puts on a play and Shaoran gets cast as the princess - well, this is the same kind of thing only even funnier.
It happens around chapters 86-89; Tooru's class decides to put on the Cinderella play. They cast the class by lot, and everyone gets cast into the most wrong roles possible. Tooru is an evil stepsister, Hanajima is Cinderella, Kyou is the prince, and Yuki is the fairy godmother... Needless to say that it was impossible for any of them to play their roles correctly, so the class writers finally decided to REWRITE the story of Cinderella to take all their personalities into account (which didn't matter because they ad-libbed most of it anyway). The result is the most cracked-out, hilarious thing I have ever read. Hence they don't put on the play "Cinderella," but put on "Something Cinderella...ish..." *dies* And you don't have to take my word for it: I made a collage of the reactions from the audience.
It was great because Furuba had/has been pretty serious for a while, and it was a nice reminder of the humor that was present in the beginning of the series. Also, a lot of stuff got said in the play that has all those double meanings that Takaya-sensei is fond of, (because Takaya-sensei is good like that), things that they couldn't or wouldn't say except under the guise of the characters they were playing, so the arc was satisfying on all levels. *Kyou!*
Oh, and Ayame came to school to make the costumes... that alone was worth it.

Furuba pwns me. Yet another thing to add to the list of things I would sell my soul for... The new Fruits Basket drama CD that is coming out in May is using the anime voices and will have the Cinderella story among other things. I will use my shiny tax refund to purchase it as soon as it comes out. And, if alas, it is a zenin item, I will bribe someone to get it for me, or if that fails, I will swim to Japan.Credit for this wonderful news goes to wasabi_fiend in this post. Heart!

I'm making a cameo appearance!RL is just... no time, no time, where did the time go! There used to be some! In the meantime, just a few quick things before I slide back into the vortex:
1) - New LJ icon! It's the cover page to Furuba chapter 107. I didn't even change the words since they are perfect as they are.
2) - Maki Youko's new series after Aishiteru ze Baby is out! Complete 180 in style and content. I didn't even recognize that the art was hers from the cover, especially since it featured a serious girl wielding a magical katana... Her style has streamlined quite a bit in a very short time.
3) - Naruto: Gaara is the new Kazekage? Sure, make the psychologically STABLE one lead the country. Right.
4) - If you're not up-to-date and following Fruits Basket YOU SHOULD BE so I can have people to squee with.
There is more, but I have to sleep. Sleep is a rare and precious commodity that I wish I could indulge in.

Books or Toys... DECISIONSMoney situation is hardly good but it has improved very much. If I work full time, I can just about cover the bills more or less, but alas, I can only work part time while school is in session. But since things are comparatively so much better, occasionally I allow myself to indulge in mini splurges. Sometimes I eat lunch at the diner across the street if it's too cold to walk elsewhere, or maybe I'll buy snacks more regularly, or maybe I will visit Book Off or Amazon once in a while.
So it was food or books that I spent my non-expendable expendable income on, and both I found easily justifiable. However, ever since Grr bought me one of the newer My Little Ponies, I have felt myself drool and yearn like a 6 year old. They have them in McDonalds Happy Meals now! I have fought and fought every impulse to fill my house with ponies like when I was a child. (I still have all of them, too, so adding more...) But darnit! I tried to say, "Oh, they're not so bad but... I'll just collect the rest of the originals one day... don't need to get new ones...," but NOOOOOO!! Grr suprised me with a pretty pony and I CAVED! I caved like a, like a... like a thing that caves very adamantly! Three more he got me for Valentine's day.
So what does this all mean? It means, "CURSE YOU, NOSTALGIA!" and it also means, "CURSE YOU, SALES FOR 50% OFF!"
This is completely justifiable! I will keep telling myself this. They wanted to come home with me, they did. All 6 of them.

I know I'm not the only one here who's fond of Sakamoto Maaya's music, so here's a question that maybe someone, somewhere knows the answer to: did she or did she not sing a song called "Teens." I've got an mp3; I've seen other people say they have this mp3; it sounds like her; it's in the right style; I'd swear it was her, but no where on the web can I find confirmation or lyrics. So they've aged 2.5 years. I don't know how I feel about this yet since I was rather looking forward to watching them grow up. Aging the characters opens the door for the possibility of darker storylines, should he choose to do so. Naruto's got a new, more stylish outfit and lost some of his cute baby fat. Sakura has donned hooker boots. I wonder what this means for Sasuke when he finally shows up again. Maybe he'll have hooker boots too.

Dear Mother Nature,STOP THE CRACK! No, seriously. This bizarre weather has been going on for a couple of years now. See, winter should be chilly, and summer should be warm. I don't know what you're doing, but it's not winter. It's some sort of crazed win-sum season.
